EXCELLENT Based on 21 reviews Mpho Anderson2024-10-24Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is such an amazing place. I have been here since March 15 and will continue to attend for as long as I can. The staff are beautiful, warm-hearted, welcoming, and passionate people. The inside is very cozy, comfortable, and peaceful. I have been to a couple of therapists and one treatment center before coming here and I never felt like I was getting much out of it. When I came here I was happily surprised with how different the approach was. The holistic approach this place offers has made me feel like I have a fighting chance of returning to my true self. Who I am meant to be. Being introduced to meditation has allowed me to practice living in and working with the present moment. I am also learning to forgive myself more and berrate myself less, allow space for all that I think, feel, and all of my parts, and express my emotions. I can honestly say that while attending The Living Room I have been given the chance to stop feeding into my ego and start feeding my divine authentic self. I’m hoping that before I graduate I can fully learn to love, trust, and respect myself and learn how my divine authentic self can use my ego as a tool, not the other way around. Stephanie Zhou2024-10-17Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Words could not express how eternally grateful I am to have found The Living Room. The holistic approach to recovery really makes TLR unique. As someone who was previously uncompromising in her refusal to adopt spirituality and the concept of a "higher power" that is so frequently repeated among recovery networks, my views have been transformed by the wisdom that Dr Leming has to share. TLR has lived up to its motto "All parts welcome", and through meditation, I have gotten to know and understand parts of myself which I had previously rejected and dismissed. Rather than focusing on the addiction as one would in traditional medical approaches, the emphasis is on the person as a whole and the parts that we are comprised of. The carefully hand-picked staff all have so much character and spunk, and there is never a dull moment during group sessions, from the wild humor that has me laughing until tears form, to the profound wisdom and guidance imparted by group facilitators who have similarly struggled with addiction. Despite the different walks of life that the patients come from, the dynamic is very much that of a family, and the staff are committed to fostering and encouraging supportive relationships among patients that further contribute to sobriety. From the moment I stepped into TLR, I was treated as an individual, and I was welcomed with a warmth that assured me that I would be in good hands. I was able to fully focus on my treatment and recovery, thanks to the staff's generosity and commitment to help me with other troubles in my life, from the life-saving to the mundane (playing barista whenever I wanted coffee during group!) Even on an aesthetic level, TLR manages to outclass with stunning visuals. The decor of the sun and mud rooms beautifully set the atmosphere for group sessions, from the cheery, spirited energy of the sun room, to the introspective, meditative aura that washes over you as you step through the doors of the mud room. TLR will always have my heartfelt thanks, and to anyone struggling with addiction, this place will be my one and only recommendation. We can’t thank the Living Room staff enough for helping our son, and working with us, over the past few months. Our son says the environment is caring and open—he feels accepted for who he is—high praise for a 17-yo boy. As soon as you walk in the doors you are welcomed into a calm and inviting space. The staff is caring and responsive and because of that we have seen amazing personal growth in our son in the time he has been there. We are so appreciative of the support we are provided as parents so we can walk the recovery journey with our son. Thank you to everyone at Living Room. I’ve been in multiple treatment centers before and it’s the same old thing at all of them. The living room has taken a different approach to recovery that has really helped me. I understand my spirituality much better, the therapists are all amazing, With the tools that I am being taught, I am learning to become confident and I’m getting to know myself more and more everyday. I can now say that I have found happiness in sobriety which I have never felt before. Vicki Mitchell2024-10-02Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This place is by far the best ever there’s not enough stars that I could possibly give after the death of my 24yr old son I no longer wanted to live myself I fell down in such a deep dark depression and I felt as if it was no way out however after being admitted to The Living Room it was there where I actually learned how to start loving myself again I was taught by Dr August Leming effectively embrace my anxiety tru doing “parts work” and just allow the feelings not to mention the therapeutic relapse prevention & CBT sessions that were developed with my primary therapist “Lindsey” after being in such a dark & unstructured environment for so long I could barely even make a doctors appointment for myself to which brings me to my next point is that “Clayton” heading their outstanding case management team never left a stone unturned and made sure that all of my needs were met even “Barb” the nurse practitioner I’m talking the entire clinical team & all the staff even from Jimmy In transportation “Hank/Henry” running group..I’ve heard people say “learn to love you until you’re able to love yourself” well at The Living Room not only did you guys show me how to love myself each and everyone of you took the time to teach me as well and for that I am forever grateful Love Always Vicki M❤️🙏🏽❤️ Liz Battaglia2024-10-01Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The Living Room is unlike any mental health facility – or program – you have experienced. From the moment you arrive you are treated with respect, warmth, and hospitality. The name is purposeful; the human spirit can an absorb so more when it is in comfort, safety, and beauty. And beautiful it is. Each piece of décor is designed to elicit or reinforce emotion, and has a tie to some aspect of the treatment style (or shall I say styles). The combination of different therapies and modalities offer a unique and holistic approach. The vibe? Think mid-century meets Buddha meets Willy Wonka meets boutique. The staff at TLR are highly trained, empathetic, thoughtful and insightful. Whether a therapy assistant leading a meditation, a one-on-one with your primary therapist, or a deep conversation with the founder and catalyst for this groundbreaking approach, (Dr. August Leming), you feel seen and heard for who you are. They are dogged in their care for you – and believe in you even when you do not. Your physical health is also monitored by an excellent team who shares these same intrinsic values. And the members? From every kind of background, carrying every kind of trauma, and every flavor personality, they treat each other with respect, support each other like family, and laugh like old friends. All parts welcome. That is the title of an excellent book, but it is also one of the mottos repeated within the walls of TLR. Our traumas are with us, and will remain so. Trying to push them away, ridicule them, or numb them to oblivion will never work. Accepting them with love and harnessing their power gives us the space to grow past unskillful behavior (behaviors that lead to negative consequences). More than that, accepting and utilizing our traumas is a truly empowering experience. We are not a broken teacup to be fixed. We are individuals with many aspects – parts – of our personalities that need to be fully integrated to achieve a higher level of being. And the combination of talk, physical, art, music, and journal therapies combine to create a primed ‘petri dish’ of healing. Whether you are suffering from corporate burnout, any kind of addiction, eating disorder, depression, or a colorful combination of diagnoses, you will be welcome in The Living Room. The education members are lucky enough to receive here is unlike any offered in traditional environments. The incorporation of Buddhist principles and meditation – along with the thoughtful explorations in all the varied therapies – help you learn to be present; to find gratitude and peace in the now. The Living Room is more *re*treat than treatment; and if you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to heal, learn, and grow there, please take it. Harold Rodriguez2024-10-01Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing place I have been attending since May 4, 2024, and will still continue to attend, and as long as my insurance covers me, I will continue going. This place has helped me find a new meaning in my life, accepting every part of it, and that I could find the beauty in life again. I look forward to every day that I go to either groups or my 1:1 session with my primary therapist. Every experience I have had at TLR has taught me something new and how to see things in a different way. For someone who dealt with anger his whole life, I’m still learning how to deal with it, but with the help from everyone in the leaving room, it has been so much easier, and I live every day in the moment because before you know it, that moment has passed you by. I have nothing but gratitude and love for this place and everyone in it. I encourage anyone thinking of joining the program to just do it because it is worth it. You are worth it! Eric Estepp2024-09-25Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The Living Rooms gave me a different view of treatment. The approach is genuine and caring. The environment is safe, warm, and inviting. I would recommend The Living Rooms to anyone I know that is struggling. I have! I am deeply grateful for Doc and everyone at The Living Rooms for presenting me with the opportunity to grow and change on my terms, but with the right recipe of encouragement. If you get a chance to sit one on one with Doc, take it. You will be better off for it. Trust me. His wisdom, compassion, and grace is priceless. Doc is a man that I will forever hold gratitude for. Thank you. Terbett... Someone who talks the talk and walks the walk. Her passion and love for people and the drive to continue service is not only special but truly heart felt. She's a real one. John, Clayton, Henry, Iris, Elizabeth, Joe, and everyone else, Thank you. You all do an amazing job. Keep up the good work. You'll all hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything. Jonathan Cox2024-09-07Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This place is amazing and unlike any other treatment center I know of. They have a great team on staff that will invest in your recovery and make you feel at home from the moment you walk in the door. While the outside of the building isn’t much to look at, they went all out to create a space that is beautiful, comfortable, and meaningful. One of the things that is different about this place is that their focus isn’t so much the addiction (though they do address it!), but the whole person. Through meditation, I was able to get in touch with parts of myself that I spent years running and hiding from. I was able to develop a spiritual component to my recovery that never really existed in other programs beyond “finding a higher power”. Dr. Lemming and his team won’t work miracles, but they will help you to realize you can work them for yourself. Give this place a try. It may save your life!
